When it comes to climate change, famed naturalistDavid Attenboroughranks as the go-to guy. So says a new poll that asked people living in the UK to choose the most trusted voice in the debate on climate change.

Of the more than 1,043 people polled by the Euro RSCG London, one of the UK’s top advertising agencies, Attenborough came out on top with 14%, followed byAl Gore(9%),Prince Charles(8%) andBob GeldofandBarack Obamaeach getting 5%.

Russ Lidstone, CEO of Euro RSCG London said “Sir David is clearly a national treasure whose passion for the natural world is clear to everyone. As the debate on climate change becomes more confusing and mired in controversy, people are looking to him to provide some clarity. This is particularly the case as cynicism around the topic continues to increase.”

Attenborough, now in his ninth decade, is currently writing and filming a new series calledThe Frozen Planet. Due out in 2011, it examines the impact of a warming climate on the polar regions, and is produced by the same team behindThe Blue PlanetandPlanet Earth.
