leona_lewis“I think animals are treated very poorly. When I see people wearing fur it makes me so sick. Especially when I see young singers doing it, that sickens me. When I rocked up to my first photo shoot they had feathers and fur there and everything…I had to make it so clear that I just do not go there.”

– Singer Leona Lewis in an interviewwith Female First.

Greenspotlight: Hanging Streetlight Planters Appear in the Netherlands

Some of design’s most satisfying moments occur when two seemingly unrelated objects are married effectively into something that is much more than the sum of its parts. That’s exactly what happened on a small pedestrian street inEindhoven, in the Netherlands, which was dotted with numerous lampposts and small planters that were serving more as clutter than as functional objects. Addressing the issue elegantly, design firmBYTRsuggested combining the problematic obstacles into unique, floating streetlights with lush, living lampshades. The design, simply called theGREENSPOTLIGHT, was an instant hit. Who wouldn’t prefer these leafylight fixtureshanging overhead to awkward posts and pots blocking your way on a narrow path?

Russell Crowe Gives Coat To Homeless Fan

December 29th, 2009 by Editor

Russell CroweOut of the news for a little while,Russell Crowehas been filming his new movie “The Next Three Days” in Pittsburgh.  This past week he heard that a homeless fan of his, nicknamed “Radio Man”, had ridden his bike from New York just to see the actor on set.

I can imagine that it’s a fine line for a celebrity when it comes to giving public handouts to individuals but Crowe apparently handed Radio Man a warm coat with a furry hood.

I’m not saying the guy should win a prize or anything but it was a nice gesture.

With the economy in the shambles that it’s in, who knows when you’re gonna be forced to find shelter on the streets?
